Amelia’s Story

Our daughter, Amelia, was born 15 weeks early at 25.2 gestation on 5 April 2020, weighing just 690g.

Being parents to a premature baby is a roller coaster of emotions - having to learn and understand all the medical terminology and get used to all the sounds and alarms, meeting all the nurses and doctors every day to find out if she was stable that night, to the very first time you get to hold your baby.

We watched Amelia in her humidicrib fight to survive each day and were often faced with the painful possibility that she may not make it. But despite the grief, we slowly realised the strength and determination of our baby girl. We created bonds with so many nurses and doctors who provided around the clock care for our baby using life saving equipment.

By supporting us you'll be raising funds to buy life-saving equipment and fund groundbreaking research that give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.
