Countdown to Half Marathon 20 May 2012:
Ever considered running a half marathon?
Well, here are three extremely tiny and very precious reasons why: Henry, Jasper and Evan Smith. My three beautiful baby sons who lost their short, but very inspiring, lives in 2006 at one hour, nine weeks and ten days old, respectively.
By running with my team in the SMH Half Marathon on Sunday 20 May 2012, you’ll help us save the lives of many more critically ill and extremely premature babies like them, and keep my boys’ memory alive.
This is the sixth year I’ve organised a team to run and, so far, more than 700 people have joined us, raising more than $520,000 for the Royal Hospital for Women’s Newborn Care Centre (NCC).

All I ask in return is for you to encourage friends and family to support your run by making a donation to the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation’s ‘Henry, Jasper & Evan Smith Trust Fund’. This provides life-saving equipment for critically ill and premature babies in the NCC, in memory of Henry, Jasper and Evan.

This year, we need more legs to run and more people to donate. My aim is to have 250 runners – our biggest team yet – and to raise $140,000 for two high-frequency ventilators urgently needed in the highest level of intensive care.
GOAL FOR TEAM 2012: $140,000 to buy two high frequency ventilators for critically ill premature babies.
