How to Track Your Steps

Easily track your daily steps using your fitness app or by logging them manually on your fundraising page.

Track Your Steps

You’re welcome to start walking and tracking your steps before the challenge begins on 17 February 2026. All step records will reset before the official campaign period, so everyone starts together.

During the Light a Lantern Challenge, you can track your daily steps directly on your fundraising page or by connecting your fitness app.

You can log your steps using one or more of the methods below:

Log kms manually through the website

  1. Go to your personal fundraising page. You can find it by clicking the link in your welcome email or by logging in on the home page.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow and select 'My Fitness Activity'
  3. Click '+Add Activity' and enter the Date, Distance (kms) and Activity Type. Optionally you can enter the number of Steps and Duration (mins)
  4. Save changes and this will be added to your page under 'Your Fitness Activity' 
Log kms automatically using Strava

1. Log in to your fundraising account on the website.

2. Go to your personal fundraising page (via your welcome email link or by logging in from the homepage).

3. Click your profile menu and select My Fitness Activity or Connected Apps.

4. Choose Strava and log in using your Strava account.

5. Follow the prompts to complete the connection.

Log steps automatically using Garmin

1. Log in to your fundraising account on the website.

2. Go to your personal fundraising page (via your welcome email link or by logging in from the homepage).

3. Click your profile menu and select My Fitness Activity or Connected Apps.

4. Choose Garmin and log in using your Garmin account.

5. Follow the prompts to complete the connection.

Log steps automatically using Fitbit

1. Log in to your fundraising account on the website.

2. Go to your personal fundraising page (via your welcome email link or by logging in from the homepage).

3. Click your profile menu and select My Fitness Activity or Connected Apps.

4. Choose Fitbit and log in using your Fitbit account.

5. Follow the prompts to complete the connection.
