I’m taking part in the Kids Fun Run

Hi my name is Blake and I am 7 years old. My little brother Jack who is 4, was born a little early at 34 weeks but although he was not as premature as some babies he still had a very long stay in the NICU. Jack was in Townsville NICU for 4 months before he was transferred to QLD Children's hospital to the PICU. Jack was 6 months old before he left hospital and came home.
I remember Jack being in hospital and all the nurses and Drs helping him. And when mum said I can help raise money to help other babies like Jack by running I knew I would be great at it.
With the help of my mum our aim is to step 29,500 steps a day between now and 21st Aug.
29,500 steps a day from now until 21st is 1,209,347 steps which is the equivalent to just over 900kms the distance from where we lived in Mt Isa to Townsville where Jack was born and looked after.

Funds raised will go towards life-saving equipment for neonatal units around Australia, giving hundreds of premature babies a better chance of survival.
