GPT50 - November 2025

Many of you will know that our son Rory was born very early and very little. In 2014 he arrived at 28 weeks and was just 685g. Because of his early start we spent the first 13 weeks together in the NICU at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick. This is what it was like.

Today, he is an adorable, happy and healthy 11 year old, thanks to the amazing care we received before and after his birth. Since then Colette and I have been involved in running events to raise money to ensure that other premature babies and their families have the best possible chance to overcome the challenges of prematurity.

Over the last 10 years we’re raised more than $130,000 for life saving equipment and research thanks to your generous support. 

This year, I’ve decided to do it again. In November I will be running the GPT50 in the spectacular Grampians National Park in Victoria. This is a 50km trail ultra marathon. I know is going to test me. I know it is going to hurt. I know too that with your support, pushing me up and down those trails, that I will finish.
