Ride Run Return. My Holiday Challenge for Premature Babies

This holiday, I am taking on a fundraising challenge to support premature babies through Running for Premature Babies.

At the beginning of this year, I had my second surgery, a calf release. It was also my fourth visit to a hospital within three years. Mentally, I was not in a good place. But on my way to the operating room, I saw a premature baby being rushed past me in an incubator. That moment changed my perspective completely.

I realised that whatever I was dealing with was nothing compared to what these tiny babies and their parents are going through. That moment helped me more than I expected, and now I want to give something back, even if only in a small way. This is why I decided to support premature babies through Running for Premature Babies.

In 2023, I cycled 4,300 kilometres from Perth to Broome. This year, during my holidays, I am taking on a new challenge.

I will cycle approximately 1,200 kilometres from Sydney to the Snowy Mountains, run the 10 highest peaks in Australia, around 45 kilometres in total, and then cycle all the way back to Sydney.

I set my fundraising goal at 1,000 dollars because I will travel more than 1,000 kilometres on this journey, and I want the distance to reflect the purpose behind it.

I am doing this to support premature babies. Their stories helped me before my surgery, and now I want to support them in return.
