For Our Little Fighter, Lili Rita ?

This November, I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge — a cause that means the absolute world to our family.

Our beautiful girl, Lili Rita, was born in May, at just 25 weeks and 3 days, weighing only 770 grams. She was so tiny, fragile, and hooked up to more machines and wires than I ever imagined a baby could be. For 109 days, we lived and breathed the NICU and Special Care — watching her fight through every setback, every hurdle, and every miracle moment that brought us one step closer to taking her home.

Thanks to the incredible care from the doctors, nurses, and the life-saving neonatal equipment that kept her stable through those critical early months, we finally got to bring our baby girl home — something we’ll be forever grateful for.

Now, I’m running (and walking!) my heart out this November to help give other premature and critically ill babies the same chance our Lili had. Every kilometre I complete is for her — and for all the little fighters still in hospital, and the parents sitting by their bedsides, hoping and praying just like we once did.
