Help us give premature babies a better chance of survival
My fundraising for the wonderful Running for Premature Babies has, perhaps unsurprisingly, always involved running.
This time I’ve decided to make life a little harder for myself. I’ll be swimming, riding AND running for premature babies as I take on an Ironman 70.3.
It’s a cause that’s incredibly personal to me. My son Liam was born prematurely, so I know firsthand just how important the care, equipment and support available to premature babies and their families can be.
Training for a 70.3 is no small commitment. Between work, kids and everyday life, adding hours of swimming, riding and running into the week has been a challenge!
So if I’m going to put this much time and energy into getting to that finish line, I want it to mean something more than just bragging rights and a medal. And if you've ever tried this multi-discipline crap of a sport, you know the financial implications.
Running for Premature Babies raises funds for lifesaving neonatal equipment and research, helping give premature babies the best possible start in life.
This time, every swim, ride, run, early morning and questionable life choice along the way is for Liam and all the little babies who arrive earlier than planned.
