Help us give premature babies a better chance of survival
Running for Premature Babies was founded by Sophie and her late husband, who tragically lost their triplet boys when they were born too early.
They provide urgently needed neonatal equipment and research to save the lives of sick (full term) and premature babies. Every year in Australia, more than 26,000 babies are born prematurely, and many of them rely on Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) to survive. Hospitals across our cities, regional towns, and remote communities urgently need their support to access the specialised, life-saving equipment required to give these babies the best possible start in life.
Michelle Thomas' eldest son, Luke, was born at 32 weeks (2 months early) and used these live saving machines for the first month of his life.
