The Little Joey's

After 4 beautiful girls born by C-Section. I feel pregnant again in 1999 and at 28 weeks i presented myself to the local hospital after spotting. After a scan i was rushed straight to Liverpool Hospital, I had placenta Privia. After arriving at Liverpool hospital, later that afternoon i started haemorrhaging and takin in for emergency surgery to get baby out safely, he was born at 1200 grams, takin straight to the ICU he had several complications with his lungs. I was given an emergency hysterectomy to try stop the bleeding and received 21 units of blood from several hospitals across Sydney; my husband was told I would not make it during the night.

 I did not see my baby for a nearly a week, when i did it was beside him in my bed. I cannot thank the staff at Liverpool Hospital enough for the ongoing care over 4 months they spent with our baby and 2 months helping me go up and see him when i wanted.

 My baby was named Joey after the very first hold with him when they were tucked down your shirt for that bond experience, that moment was so special. i hope you can all donate what u can or join and challenge yourself or join us on our fun walk day details available soon
