I’m officially half way through the 100km run for Premature Babies. What an honour it is to be doing something for these little super heroes. The real superhero’s in this word are the doctors and nurses that live and work in the NICU across Australia. Had a great run this morning at camp treachery to kick off the 100km for premature baby’s. Cant wait to get more runs in and raise money for a great cause.Premmie Marathon Challenge
This November, I’m running 100km to raise $1,000 for Running for Premature Babies - a cause that’s very close to my heart.
Our beautiful daughter Polly was born at just 30 weeks, and those early days were some of the hardest and most emotional of our lives. She spent her first 8 days in the Royal Women’s Hospital NICU, before being transferred to the Special Care Nursery at Hurstville Private, where she stayed for another six weeks.
We were incredibly lucky that Polly received the most amazing care from the doctors and nurses who looked after and we saw firsthand how much difference the specialised equipment and dedicated staff make to these tiny babies and their families.
Now, I want to give something back. Every kilometre I run this November is for Polly, and for all the little fighters who get a tougher start to life than they should have.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world. Every dollar helps give premature babies the best possible chance.
