My reason why

When I saw running for premature babies pop up on my socials, I knew immediately that I wanted to take part and do my little bit to raise some money for this charity.

Being told at 34 weeks pregnant that I would be meeting my baby girl that week due to being very unwell, and it being too risky to continue my pregnancy was so scary.

Fast forward to being induced, an emergency C-Section and a visit to the NICU and a stay in the SCN, our little Lucy May was able to come home after three weeks. Three of the longest weeks of our lives.

Seeing her in the isolette and all the care that she needed in her first few weeks was extremely confronting. At now seven months old Lucy is kicking goals, and we are forever greatful for all the care she has received from the medical system ??

This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.

This one is close to my heart after having Lucy early. Thanks to all the support we received from the hospital she is now six months old and kicking goals!
