In March 2024 I was admitted to hospital for PROM. After receiving an overwhelming about of information and making many life saving decisions for my little girl, I was told I’d stay in hospital until her arrival.

After a lot of research and hope I was sure she would keep cooking for a few more weeks and be delivered at a much safer gestation.

Then at 24 weeks I went into labour and was rushed for an emergency C-section.

The room was filled with doctors and nurses yet all you could hear was the sound of their tools, working hard to save our girls life before rushing her off to the NICU at Nepean Hospital. Where she spent the first four months of her life fighting, growing and showing how much she deserved to be here.

The Nicu was where we learnt all about the amount of medical equipment it takes to save a micro prems life. Which is why I will be participating in the November running for premature babies marathon, by walking everyday and raising money for life save equipment.

Without this equipment little Kaitlyn wouldn’t be here today smashing goals and taking on the world.

This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.
