Noah’s Little Footprints

Our son Noah was born at just 34 weeks and 6 days. For 13 days, he fought bravely in the Neonatal Special Care Unit at Mackay Base Hospital, surrounded by angels in scrubs who breathed life into him with unwavering love and tireless care.

While Noah fought his fight, his older siblings — Daisy, Byron, and Mackenzie — waited and prayed from afar, wrapped in the arms of their incredible Nanna, who cared for them with boundless love. Though physically apart, our family was united by hope, faith, and a fierce belief in Noah’s strength.

In those quiet, uncertain hours, my partner Simon and I watched the NICU team pour their hearts into not only our little boy, but every baby in their care. We witnessed miracles in motion — acts of compassion, dedication, and the life-saving power of specialised equipment that turns the faintest breaths into the promise of tomorrow.

This November, Simon and I are running to honour Noah’s journey — and to help ensure that our closest Neonatal Special Care Unit, MBH Neonatal Special Care Unit, can continue to provide the care, expertise, and equipment so vital to these tiny fighters.
