Our Story

Hi, I’m the mother of Genevieve Ann who was born at 31w3d. Genevieve was born weighing 1.866kg, she was diagnosed with Respiratory Stress Disorder and Jaundice. She was on oxygen support through CPAP, incubation with phototherapy and NGT feeding just to name a few interventions required. She is the strongest and bravest baby we know who has come such a long way. We’re so incredibly grateful to have her home safe and healthy.

We are well aware of how lucky we are to have such an incredible child but know how much love, care and energy goes into that journey from the staff in the NICU & Special Care Nurseries.

Let’s make it clear, I’m not a runner at all. I’m wanting to join this challenge as a way to raise awareness and much needed funds to help support staff so that families, who find themselves in similar situations to ours, will have the same wonderful care and service that allow babies to go home healthy.

This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.
