I'm walking 70km to celebrate my baby, Jaxton Samuel.

💙 Jaxton’s Journey 💙 Jaxton was born on 22 June 2017 at John Hunter Hospital, just 25 weeks into his mum’s pregnancy, weighing an incredibly tiny 990 grams. His due date wasn’t until 29 September 2017. From the very beginning, Jaxton showed an incredible strength and determination to fight. He spent his earliest days surrounded by extraordinary medical care and technology, which gave him the precious chance to grow, survive and, eventually, come home. The neonatal incubators used to care for babies like Jaxton can cost over $90,000 each—a powerful reminder of the remarkable technology, expertise and dedication behind neonatal care. Those first weeks and months were filled with uncertainty, but Jaxton kept fighting. Every tiny milestone was a victory, and every step forward brought hope. Today, at 9 years old, Jaxton is a happy, thriving little boy. We feel incredibly blessed that, despite his extremely premature start to life, he has grown up without the significant long-term physical or medical effects that can come with being born so early. His journey is a powerful reminder of just how strong these tiny babies can be—and how much a little fighter can overcome. We are walking for all the babies born too soon, for the families who spend those frightening days beside an incubator, and for the incredible neonatal teams who help give these tiny lives a fighting chance. Jaxton was only 990 grams, but his fighting spirit was so much bigger than he was. 💙 From 25 weeks and 990 grams… to the incredible 9-year-old he is today. 🥹💙.
