This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge
Hi everyone, my name is Emily and I am a mum of a baby who was almost admitted to the NICU Ward, her name is Elvie-Mae. Elvie had IUGR and I had to be induced at 38 weeks. Elvie was not able to breathe by herself when she was born and she needed oxygen for over 20 minutes. Her blood sugar was so low she had to be force fed via a syringe for two days and had her blood sugar levels checked every few hours for four days. I feel deeply for the parents who’s children were admitted to the NICU and want to do my part in helping those babies achieve their best chance at life.
My aim is to raise $1100 for advanced resuscitation tools that could help 20 babies born in distress and needing assistance to breathe. Without it, my baby girl and many others wouldn’t be here today.
I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.
I'd love your support - if you can, please make a generous tax-deductible donation here.
Thank you for your support.
Your donation will help keep me motivated as I complete my challenge through November, knowing that each km I complete is helping save the lives of sick and premature babies.
