I'm walking 142km to celebrate my baby, Theodore.
At about 30 weeks I was admitted to Townsville Hospital with high liver function tests, we were sure we'd be able to get them down and make it to at least 34 weeks. Unfortunately that did not happen and my LFTs got scarily high and it was in both mine and Theodore's best interest to have an early caesarian. As a mum of 2 full term babies this was an extremely scary thought. What should've been an exciting moment of meeting my baby was instead filled with so much anxiety and distress. My only calming thought was the fact that I was at Townsville Hospital, their NICU was renowned for being one of the best. We met little Theodore at exactly 32 weeks and he left the theatre and was taken to the NICU. We may have only spent 11 days in the NICU but it definitely the most harrowing heartwarming moments of my entire life. The amazing and constant care of my little fighter gave me so much hope of everything being okay ❤️🩹

My Target
142KM
Every day in Australia, 71 babies are born prematurely.
This November, I'm taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge to give these babies the best chance at life.
The funds I raise will help Running for Premature Babies provide life-saving neonatal equipment for hospitals around Australia, giving premature and critically ill babies the chance to grow stronger and go home with their families.
If you're able to support me, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps fund the equipment and research that gives premature babies a better chance of survival and quality of life.
Thank you for supporting my challenge and helping Australia's tiniest babies. 💜
