Leefe & I are walking 42kms for Premature Babies

At just 27 weeks, I went into preterm labour, and our world turned upside down. I stayed in hospital for over 3 weeks being monitored and then our beautiful boy Leefe arrived at only 30 weeks and 4 days — tiny, fragile, and full of fight. 

Those early days were some of the hardest of our lives, filled with fear, hope, and the constant hum of machines, equipment, nurses & doctors keeping him safe. 

We’ll forever be thankful for the incredible team at King Edward Memorial Hospital and the life-saving neonatal equipment that gave our little miracle the head start he needed.

Leefe spent 49 days in the NICU. Starting his life in a humidicrib, on a CPAP machine and eventually hi-flow oxegyn. He had countless blood tests, brain scans and eye & hearing exams during his stay and continues to receive care through physiotherapy,  opthamology and regular paediatric appointments. 

 Their care and compassion gave us our son — and now, we want to help give that same chance to other families too.

$42 - Could provide a jaundiced baby with access to a phototherapy light for 3.5 weeks. Jaundice is very common in premature babies and if left untreated can cause brain damage
