This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

My son Jacob was born at just 27 weeks, weighing only 950 grams — a little boy so eager to meet the world that he arrived three months early. His arrival flipped our world upside down.

This journey has taught us so much. That life rarely goes to plan. That we are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the most supportive family and friends — to those reading this, thank you. You’ve helped carry us through an emotional rollercoaster. Without you, I don’t know where I would be

We’ve also witnessed firsthand the extraordinary dedication of NICU nurses. Their tireless care, compassion, and skill gave Jacob the fighting chance he needed — and we truly believe he wouldn’t be here today without them. We’ve seen just how far neonatal technology has come, and how critical it is in these fragile early days of life.

But we’ve also seen the need — for more staff, more equipment, and continued financial support to give every premature baby the best possible start.

That’s why I’m taking on this challenge — for Jacob, for the babies still fighting, and for the heroes who care for them every day
