Back story
This one is close to my heart.Theo was born not breathing & spent 5 days in the NICU.
I was put to sleep after hearing a code blue called for Theo. I woke up in recovery not knowing if my baby was alive or not. As soon as I was allowed to leave recovery I was taken to see Theo in the NICU. I was still in my bed when I was taken to see him, in his little fully enclosed crib a Dr was working hard to get an IV into his little body as he needed to have antibiotics. Over the next 2 days Theo was on round the clock care. He was given a spinal tap to be tested for meningitis which we were grateful came back negative. By day 3 he was able to be dressed and was moved into an open crib & on day 5 we were finally able to take our little boy home!
I will forever be thankful that we had staff, resources & equipment on hand to help Theo during this time.

Back again for another year! This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge & my goal this time round is to do 100km!
I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.
