Liam the Lion

We found out the Liam was severely growth restricted at our 20 week anatomy scan. We were told to expect the worst, and that it would likely happen within the week.
But that week passed and his heart was still beating.
Each scan we had, there was a small amount of weight gain, but his heart was still beating. He was still fighting and we weren't going to give up on him until he'd done all he could.
He made it 32 weeks, finally at a viable weight that the incredible medical team decided it was time to be earthside.
Born at a teeny tiny 597 grams, Liam cried when he entered the world. He didn't need intubation or ventilation, just CPAP to help him breathe. He went straight to the NICU where he spent 4 months putting on weight, learning to eat, learning to breathe.
Even now, he's still fighting. And we won't stop fighting either.

This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.

I'd love your support - if you can, please make a generous tax-deductible donation here.

Thank you for your support.
Your donation will help keep me motivated as I complete my challenge through November, knowing that each km I complete is helping save the lives of sick and premature babies.

Fancy joining me? You can sign up for the Premmie Marathon Challenge too! Simply choose your challenge distance and start clocking your kms for premmie babies.
