Every day in Australia, 71 babies are born prematurely.

Hi friends!
Prematurity is something that has always been incredibly close to my heart, and my family's.
My original due date was September 18, 2003. Instead, I made my entrance into the world on August 21 – almost a full month early!
My birth came with significant complications, causing my family an enormous amount of stress and, understandably, preparing them for the worst. I spent time in intensive care and an incubator, and was even so tiny that my family had to have custom-made baby clothes, because even the smallest sizes didn't fit me!
To this day, I still have a few lasting developmental differences, including one kidney being larger than the other. I was also born with a hole in my heart (which, thankfully, was eventually filled – insert an "until I met Tim" joke here!), which initially affected my growth. I also had and still have an unevenly shaped head, with one side being flat and the other rounded - I still remember the painful blue shaping helmet!
November is Prematurity Awareness Month, and this year I'll be walking and running to raise funds for vital neonatal equipment for hospitals across Australia.
Every year, approximately 1 in 10 babies born in Australia arrive prematurely. The funds raised will help provide hospitals with essential equipment to improve outcomes and ultimately save the lives of these little ones.
My story had a happy ending, and I recognise how incredibly fortunate my family and I were. Unfortunately, not every family gets the same outcome.
If you feel inclined, I'd be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small, through the link below. Every contribution makes a difference and could help give another family the happy ending that mine was fortunate enough to have.
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️
