SMASHING GOALS!!! So happy to have smashed another goal! Goal setting was so essential to us during our time in the NICU! Get out of blue lights, get out of humidy crib, get off CPAP, start suck feeds, first bath, get off high flow, breastfeeding, moving out of intensive care, Bain scans, eye scans, all suck feeds, certain weight gain milestones! Everyday or every week a new goal, a new achievement, ONE STEP CLOSER TO COMING HOME! Just like in the NICU, we couldn’t have done any of it without our friends and family for support! Thank you for all of your donations xxxGrateful
With so much love and support we have smashed out $1500 goal!! Let’s see if we can get $2000 xoxox$1000
we have hit $1000 and I’m so grateful!!!! I have just upped my goal to $1500 so we can get even more money for the babiesOne week to go!
Oh my gosh, feeling the love and support! We have hit our $600 target already!!! Thank you to our generous supporters!!!Walking 40kms for Premature Babies
Our son Robbie was born at just 28 weeks, three months early, after severe pre-eclampsia suddenly took over my body. Both our lives were at risk, and he had to be delivered early to save us.
Robbie spent 75 days in the NICU at King Edward Memorial Hospital, fighting hard every single day. Half of that time he was on CPAP to help him breathe, followed by weeks of high-flow oxygen support, and then more time simply growing stronger, learning to feed, and being constantly monitored by the amazing NICU team.
He spent three weeks in a humidicrib before graduating to a big boy cot, had regular eye and brain scans, an X-ray, and even a blood transfusion. Every wire, beep, and tube meant one thing, he was alive, and he was fighting.
We’ll never forget those 75 days. The care, equipment, and love that surrounded Robbie gave him the best possible start to life, and for that we’re endlessly grateful.
That’s why we’re taking part in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise money for Running for Premature Babies, a charity that funds lifesaving equipment for NICUs across Australia. The very same kind of equipment that helped keep our Robbie alive.
Every dollar raised helps give other premature babies the same chance to grow, to thrive, and to come home.
