My Why

I’m walking 71km this November for the 71 babies born prematurely every single day.

Just two months ago, I welcomed my Di/Di twins at 34+4. After a few days in hospital, they arrived via emergency c-section. Because they were pre-term, the doctors did everything possible to make sure they were ready for life outside my womb but we still couldn’t avoid the Special Care Nursery.

Rory and Luca spent 16 days in SCN. They needed breathing support, feeding tubes and round the clock monitoring. The nurses, doctors and specialised equipment carried us through some of the hardest days of our lives. I truly can’t imagine our experience without them.

If I can raise enough money to help even one family bring their premature baby home safely, then every step I take this November will be priceless.

This November, I'm taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge to give these babies the best chance at life.

The funds I raise will help Running for Premature Babies provide life-saving neonatal equipment for hospitals around Australia, giving premature and critically ill babies the chance to grow stronger and go home with their families.
