Our Little Fighter ?

On the 13th of August, our beautiful baby girl came into this world — four weeks early.

She was a tiny 1.9kg bundle of perfection, classed as a premature baby.

Although she wasn’t the smallest baby born, those early days were filled with fear and uncertainty. The constant NICU visits, the sound of monitors, the waiting, and the overwhelming emotion of leaving the hospital without her in my arms — it’s something that stays with you forever.

You go through a mix of emotions: pride in their strength, guilt for leaving them behind, gratitude for the incredible doctors and nurses, and a deep, aching hope that your baby will be okay.

Having lived through that experience, I couldn’t think of a better cause to raise money for. Premature babies are tiny fighters, and the care they receive in those early days can make all the difference.

This cause is personal. It’s for the parents who sit by the incubator day after day. For the babies who fight so hard to grow stronger. And for the incredible teams in neonatal units who help families like ours every single day.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps support the miracles happening in NICUs across the country. 

This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.
