This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge
This November, my daughter Ivory and I will be walking 100km for the Premmie Marathon Challenge – raising funds for lifesaving equipment and support for premature babies and their families.
My inspiration comes from a beautiful mum I know of, Elissa Tudor, who gave birth to her twin girls at just 24 weeks. Bailee Grace and Macie Mae. Sadly, little Macie passed away in hospital, but Bailee has continued to defy the odds and is now thriving. Through Elissa’s powerful updates, I’ve learned just how much premature babies rely on specialised NICU care. From breathing machines, humidified incubators and feeding tubes, to the dedicated doctors and nurses who fight for these tiny lives.
Bailee’s journey, from weighing only 747g at birth to now being a strong, tube-free little girl, is a reminder of the miracles made possible through this vital support. While she always should have taken 2 sweethearts home, the equipment and expertise in NICU gave her the chance to take home her miracle baby, Bailee.
Walking 100km may seem like a big effort, but it’s nothing compared to what these little warriors go through every single day. Every step we take is in honour of Bailee, Macie, and all the premature babies who need a fighting chance.
Please donate if you can – your support goes directly towards lifesaving equipment and care that gives families hope, strength, and more miracle stories like Bailee’s
