Our sweet boy Bohdi

On 5th June, our lives changed forever when our beautiful boy Bohdi arrived far earlier than we ever imagined at Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne.

Bohdi was born incredibly tiny at just 485 grams, after a pregnancy complicated by severe growth restriction and low fluid. We went from excitedly preparing to bring our baby home, to being thrown into a world of NICU, machines, breathing support, feeding tubes, procedures and an overwhelming amount of fear and uncertainty.

There have been moments that have broken our hearts, setbacks we never saw coming, and days where simply getting through the day felt like an achievement. But there have also been the most incredible little victories — every gram gained, every feed tolerated, every step towards getting stronger.

Bohdi has fought harder than we could ever have imagined. He is still fighting, and our journey isn’t over yet.

This isn’t the beginning to motherhood and fatherhood we pictured, but Bohdi has shown us a strength that is impossible to put into words. We are endlessly proud of our tiny boy and so incredibly grateful for the amazing team at Mercy Hospital for Women who have helped keep him safe and supported us through the hardest chapter of our lives. 💙

Every day in Australia, 71 babies are born prematurely.

This November, I'm taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge to give these babies the best chance at life.

The funds I raise will help Running for Premature Babies provide life-saving neonatal equipment for hospitals around Australia, giving premature and critically ill babies the chance to grow stronger and go home with their families.
