My target 21 kms

7 days

Its been 7 days since Blinky was born. Renee has finally been allowed home after 11 days in Westmead. Today the boys eyes have been open the longest that i have seen so far. They are dark, but when i speak his name or just talk to him, you can see his eyes start to gaze my way, i choose to believe that he is able to hear and he is looking towards the noise.

It was an emotional trip home when i brought Renee home, its her first time away from Blinky, she has been able to visit him at anytime during her stay in Westmead. 1 floor down in the elevator. It made it easy for her since she had the emergency caesarean.
Now she has to rely on someone to drive her when she wants to see him, for the next 5 weeks. I love her being home.

Quick visit from some family, cook Renee a welcome home much deserved and appreciated, Wagyu steak for her dinner, proper shower and then back to the hospital to make sure Blinky is not lonely.

This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.

I'd love your support - if you can, please make a generous tax-deductible donation here.

Thank you for your support.
Your donation will help keep me motivated as I complete my challenge through November, knowing that each km I complete is helping save the lives of sick and premature babies.

Fancy joining me? You can sign up for the Premmie Marathon Challenge too! Simply choose your challenge distance and start clocking your kms for premmie babies.
