This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

As some of you know, James, Ian's son, was born very prematurely.  James was born at only 26 weeks, and his twin brother devastatingly did not make it.  James faced massive complications for some time, some of which have created enormous challenges throughout his life. However, James has risen above these and gone on to do amazing things in all areas of his life - all of which wouldn't be possible without the support of the doctors, team and equipment in the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit when he was born.

I was lucky enough to have my daughter a week early with no complications at all.  To honour and support support James, and all the parents and individuals that have been affected through premature birth, I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge for the month of November. 

I'm not a runner, or even an exerciser much these days, so I'm challenging myself to 42km for the month of November. 

So far, I'm surprising myself with the running I've been able to achieve (3k per day - which is more than I thought I could do for sure!).  Knowing I'm doing it with a purpose makes a huge difference. 

I'd really love your support - anyone who has had a premature baby will know how important the funds are for the NICU units, and anyone like me that was lucky enough to carry to full term and have a healthy baby, please support to make a difference to those that aren't so fortunate.
