Giving back to the NICU community

In October 2019, our son and first baby Nainoa was born 10 weeks early, while we were spending the weekend away with friends, 3h away from home and from our hospital.

It was one of the scariest days of my life, and the following weeks spent in the NICU were challenging to say the least.

Every day brought a mix of joy and fear, as Nainoa started his first days of life with a heart complication that ended up in surgery when he was 10 weeks old. Up until the surgery he was unable to breastfeed or take a bottle, and required respiratory assistance until the very end of his NICU stay.

We were able to go home all together on Christmas day, finally, after 11 weeks and 3 days in NICU.

I will be forever grateful to the NICU community and Australian medical system for providing us with the best care in the world.

So, this November, my husband Guillaume and I are taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge to give back to this amazing community.

The funds we raise will help Running for Premature Babies provide life-saving neonatal equipment for hospitals around Australia, giving premature and critically ill babies the chance to grow stronger and go home with their families.

If you're able to support us, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps fund the equipment and research that gives premature babies a better chance of survival and quality of life.

Thank you for supporting our challenge and helping Australia's tiniest babies. 💜
