This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

In 2019, our son Nainoa was born prematurely at 30 weeks, with a birth weight of 1.7 kg and some heart complications. For weeks we didn’t know if he would have to undergo surgery. We stayed for almost 12 weeks at NICU in Royal North Shore hospital, before Nainoa finally got heart surgery and was able to come home. It was one of the most challenging periods of our lives for my husband and me. We were scared all the time. But today Nainoa is 6, he is a bright and happy little boy, and we couldn’t be more proud of him.

I feel really grateful for the medical system in Australia, and all the mental support we got. Without any family around, we found the most amazing support in the hospital staff and volunteers at NICU. I’ve always wanted to give back to that incredible community in Australia so now is the time.

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.

I'd love your support - if you can, please make a generous tax-deductible donation here.

Thank you for your support.
Your donation will help keep me motivated as I complete my challenge through November, knowing that each km I complete is helping save the lives of sick and premature babies.

Fancy joining me? You can sign up for the Premmie Marathon Challenge too! Simply choose your challenge distance and start clocking your kms for premmie babies.
