This November I’m taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge

June 22nd 2025- our beautiful little Evelyn arrived 5 weeks early. To our surprise not only was she early but the baby we were waiting for turned out to be a girl !! Over the moon feelings both of excitement but nerves as she was whisked away to be cared for by the team of nurses, midwives and doctors. We spent 3 weeks in the SCN - Special Care Nursery . This was a relief to have such support during this time as this was very different to the experience we had with Peter our first born just 2 years prior.

Our girl made leaps and bounds during her time there going through tests, monitoring, feeding and growing all whilst being cared for by the beautiful nurses and midwives. 

Every day made us more thankful and appreciative as this was not something you expect to deal with when you haven’t reached or close to your due date.

We are forever thankful to the team that helped us as we eagerly watched and loved our girls in those early unknowing weeks until we could bring her home to her big brother !

I’ll be clocking up my kms in the Premmie Marathon Challenge to raise funds for life-saving neonatal equipment that will give critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival.
