My Team will be taking part in the premmie Marathon challenge to help give these babies a better chance of life.
After 4 beautiful girls born by C-Section, I fell pregnant again. In 1999 at 28 weeks i presented myself to the local hospital with complications I was rushed straight to Liverpool Hospital. I Was told I had placenta Privia, I didn't know what that was at that time as everything was happening very quick, Later that afternoon i started haemorrhaging and takin in for emergency surgery to get our baby out safely, he was born at 1200 grams and was takin the the NICU .He was put on many machines as his lungs were not developed enough. I was given an emergency hysterectomy to try stop the bleeding and received 21 units of blood from several hospitals across Sydney, my husband was told I would not make it during the night
Β I did not see my baby for a nearly a week after my surgery's, when I did it was beside him in my bed. I cannot thank the staff at Liverpool Hospital enough for the ongoing care over 4 months they spent with our baby their dedication and passion was very overwhelming .Over 2 months they helped me go up and down from my ward in my bed with many machines just so I can see him when I wantedΒ
My baby was named Joey after the very first hold with him when they were tucked down your shirt for that bond experience, that moment was so special. So I hope you can all donate, NO DONATION is too small every cent helps to go towards the equipment for our littlest survivors.Β

Every day in Australia, 71 babies are born prematurely.

This November, I'm taking on the Premmie Marathon Challenge to give these babies the best chance at life.

The funds I raise will help Running for Premature Babies provide life-saving neonatal equipment for hospitals around Australia, giving premature and critically ill babies the chance to grow stronger and go home with their families.

If you're able to support me, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps fund the equipment and research that gives premature babies a better chance of survival and quality of life.

Thank you for supporting my challenge and helping Australia's tiniest babies. πŸ’œ
