Running 100km for the Tiny Fighters — For My Niece, Sunday
Every year in Australia, around 26,000 babies are born prematurely — that’s 26,000 tiny lives beginning their journey in neonatal intensive care.
Some weighing less than a bag of sugar, yet fighting harder than most adults ever will.
For me, this isn’t just a statistic.
It’s personal.
My beautiful niece, Sunday, was one of those babies.
She arrived far earlier than expected — fragile, small, and fighting for every breath. I still remember those early days, standing by helplessly as she lay surrounded by tubes, wires, and beeping machines that were keeping her alive. It was one of the hardest and most humbling experiences of my life — watching someone so small show so much strength.
It opened my eyes to a world I hadn’t truly understood before — a world where every gram gained, every heartbeat, and every day is a victory.
It also made me realise how critical neonatal equipment and care are in giving these babies a fighting chance.
That’s why this November, I’m taking part in the Premmie Marathon Challenge and committing to run 100 kilometres to raise funds for the Running for Premature Babies Foundation.
Since 2007, this foundation has provided equipment that’s helped give over 10,000 babies a better chance of survival and quality of life. Every dollar raised goes directly toward life-saving neonatal equipment for Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and Special Care Units across Australia.
I’ll be running for Sunday — and for every baby who started life a little earlier than planned.
Every step I take is a tribute to their courage, and a promise to help more families see their babies grow, thrive, and come home.
If you can, please consider supporting my fundraiser.
Your donation, big or small, helps fund the vital equipment that keeps these tiny hearts beating.
Together, we can make sure more premature babies get the fighting chance they deserve.

? Running 100km for the Tiny Fighters — For My Niece, Sunday ?
26,000 babies are born prematurely in Australia every year.
Tiny warriors who arrive too soon — fighting battles most of us could never imagine.
One of those babies was my niece, Sunday.
She came into this world far earlier than expected — fragile, tiny, but fierce. Watching her hooked up to tubes and monitors, fighting for every breath, was both heartbreaking and inspiring. It opened my eyes to how powerful these little lives are, and how much the care they receive truly matters.
This November, I’m running 100 kilometres as part of the Premmie Marathon Challenge, to raise funds for the Running for Premature Babies Foundation. Since 2007, their equipment has given over 10,000 babies a better chance at survival and a stronger start in life.
Every run I complete, every kilometre I push through, is for Sunday — and for every baby still fighting their way into this world. ???
If you can, please support this cause with a donation. Your generosity helps provide life-saving neonatal equipment for hospitals across Australia, giving more families the gift of hope
Thank you for helping me turn every step into something that truly matters. ?
